The personalised program I will develop is adapted to your own physiology, genes, lifestyle, and it is aimed to provide you with the skills and new habits to maintain your health independently for the long term.
Before your initial consultation, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire, a nutritional assessment questionnaire and to fill out a three-day food/mood diary. It is important that you take the time to fill these out as all of them will help me to make connections between the foods you eat, what and how you feel, and your symptoms.
During your initial consultation a detailed case history will be taken and your health questionnaire and food/mood diary will be analyzed and discussed. Multiple factors should be assessed including: environmental inputs, mind-body connections, genetic make-up, and more. Within 1-2 days after your initial consultation, I will email you a nutritional program that will include dietary and life-style recommendations, along with the addition of key supplements specific to your dietary requirements. If needed, I may make recommendations for laboratory tests, appropriate to your health issues.
In order to get the most out of your nutritional therapy consultation, I ask that clients sign up for at least two follow-up consultations after their initial one. It is important to note that nutritional therapy is not a quick fix and requires a large degree of self-motivation and compliance. Follow-up consultations allow me to give on-going support and advice, as well as to monitor progress made since the last visit, explain any diagnostic test results and to update the strategy to ensure that your program is working effectively for you.
On average clients have 2-3 follow-up consultations depending on their health concerns, initial level of health and motivation / compliance to their nutrition program. Follow-up consultations last for approximately 50 minutes and usually take place every 6 weeks.
The on-going management of your condition may involve working along side your primary care doctor, a specialist consultant, or any other qualified complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practitioner if necessary.
