Vigeo Nutrition was founded with an aim to transform people´s lives through sound nutritional advice and proper education. Vigeo is Latin for Nourishing and Thriving.
I am a Nutritional Therapist with a specialized interest in the Functional Medicine approach to health. As a Functional Nutritionist, I focus my approach not only on dietary aspects that include the most nutritionally dense, natural foods, but to other internal factors such as our experiences, attitude to life, our beliefs, and how we respond to stress.
eight pillars of health
I strongly believe in an integrative approach to nutrition, that takes into account eight pillars of health: diet, sleep, movement, stress levels, microbiome composition, genetics, meaning and purpose in life, and meaningful supportive relationships.
Because we are all unique and no one diet or health plan will be suitable for everyone, I will develop a personalized program that targets your current health conditions as opposed to a “one size fits all” type of program merely based on your symptoms.
I see clients in Mexico City and San Francisco, and I have a virtual practice that allows me to work uninterrupted with clients worldwide.
I graduated from the College of Naturopathic Medicine, a world leader in the field of Nutritional and other Complementary therapies. I have a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University, in the US, with a focus in Molecular Biology and Genetics. In addition, I have a BSc in Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry with a focus on Biochemistry from the National University in Mexico (UNAM) where I graduated with Honors.
My background in Biochemistry, Molecular biology and Genetics, along with my knowledge in Nutrition allow me to better understand the mechanisms by which targeted changes in nutritional and environmental factors can help my clients improve their health.
